Fragments – Painting on canvas – Abstract art

“Fragments” is an abstract painting on canvas, part of my“Shadow” series. It captures the duality between light and shadow, a duality we all carry within us, far beyond the simple concept of good and evil. My intention with this work was to explore our personal sphere, a zone both self-destructive and beneficent. The choice may seem simple, but we are all confronted with our dark side, a source of doubt and injury. Happiness thus becomes a constant work in progress, requiring an awareness of our destructive side in order to defuse it and evolve towards our best version. Shades of black and beige dominate the canvas, creating a striking contrast that highlights this duality. I wanted to express through these colors that no individual is entirely black or white; we are all fragmented and divided between these two extremes.
