The concept behind the “Mirage” series is rooted in the overflow of thoughts that constantly flood my mind. So much so that it becomes difficult to keep track of them, as new thoughts are constantly arriving, eclipsing those that preceded them. These thoughts become mirages, illusions. The boundary with reality becomes blurred as daydreams intermingle with the waking world, making it difficult to stay fully anchored in reality.
With “Mirage”, I sought to represent the swirls of thoughts that agitate my mind, a phenomenon that probably resonates with many people. It’s both soothing and disturbing, reflecting a state of anxiety, often revealing an inner turmoil.
Like the ebb and flow of the sea, these paintings capture the constant movement of these thoughts, a phenomenon that is both beautiful and tumultuous. It is a reminder of the perpetual tide within the human mind and how, like the sea, it can be both calming and turbulent, revealing the complexities of our inner worlds.
